Outstanding Results Again at BSix

Following on from exceptional A2 results last week, BSix students have performed extremely well at GCSE..

The star of the show, for the third year running, is GCSE English in which 82% scored grades A-C. "Our English team is performing wonders", says Philip Elliott, BSix's Deputy Principal. " You have to remember that this result involves 146 students – that is a lot of futures to be responsible for."

Our GCSE Maths results are also impressive with 58% achieving grades A-C. "These results reflect the high quality of our teaching in Maths", Philip Elliott continues. "We have a dynamic, committed team dedicated to getting our students this vital qualification."

Other subjects performed well. GCSEs form part of our Access to Advanced course designed for young people who just missed out on A-C grades or who have not taken their GCSEs before. Started three years ago, this programme has become a real success story. It allows young people a progression route to study at A Level or BTEC National Diploma.

"We are proud to be a comprehensive college", concludes Ken Warman, BSix's Principal. "We provide opportunities for progression to all young people who wish to study and pursue meaningful careers. We believe that all young people can flourish in education and be successful if they are prepared to work hard alongside and in co-operation with our excellent teachers. We genuinely believe in, and aim to deliver, high standards for all.".
