BSix celebrates Turkish independence
Turkish independence day fell in the half-term but BSix as not going to miss out on the celebrations.
A traditional belly dancer entertained our students and staff in the canteen for two sessions. The dancer left the stage to thunderous applause and whoops of delight. Our students joined her on stage and continued to dance and celebrate after the show.
Meanwhile in the kitchen, now entitled Diversity, our award-winning restaurateur, Amar Ahluwalia , had prepared a fantastic menu of Turkish food. Everyone was so pleased. Altan Salih , our new ICT teacher, was so impressed that he eat a meal in the first lunch hour and returned in the second to eat another!
"We have such fun on days like this," says Denise Roulston , Director of BSeven , "They combine dance , music and food in such a beautiful way, These events have a serious purpose too. They celebrate the diversity of the College community and allow us all to learn about and appreciate the cultures of the world."
