Overview
This BTEC First Diploma is a practical, work-related course which will provide you with an understanding of children’s early development, care and education. You will complete projects and assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations and activities. It introduces you to the employment area related to care and education in the early years, and provides a good basis to go on to study for a more advanced work-related qualification. You will be on work placement every Friday for the whole academic year. You will study six units that consist of five mandatory and one optional unit. The five mandatory units are stated in the table below.
